Health & Safety

We understand that Health and Safety is critically important to our business. Therefore, we have set objectives to provide a safe and healthy environment for all employees and the public during the Company’s operations and to protect the general health and well being of our employees.

We do this by maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety as well as ensuring employees play an active part in the development of Health & Safety at all levels across the business.

The Directors of the Company further support our objectives and ensure that Health and Safety is given the highest priority in everything we do by leading the promotion of a positive safety culture, ensuring Health & Safety remains at the forefront of our processes and ensuring that all members of staff receive adequate support, training and supervision during their career with us.

To demonstrate our commitment to Health & Safety and to assist in the continuous improvement of our positive safety culture, in 2019, we were one of the first structural steel companies to transition away from OHSAS 18001 to receiving the internationally recognised standard ISO 45001:2018 certification for the design, fabrication and erection of steel structures along with full accreditation to Constructionline Gold and Achilles Building Confidence.

Health & Safety is given the highest priority in everything we do, from office based tasks through to the fabrication of our steel and the erection process on site.

H&S2

A systematic process of risk reduction exists at every stage of our operation beginning with design risk assessments, following through to the development of site risk assessments on all aspects of our work. This is developed into a comprehensive project specific method statement that becomes the key document for the successful and safe completion of the project.

We recognise that the Health, Safety and Welfare of all our employees and those who may be affected by our work, is an integral part of our business performance therefore our Company Procedures and Policies are always developed with consideration of our Health and Safety objectives in mind.

Our most recent Health and Safety achievements include winning the 2019 Health and Safety award and quality commendation from Wates Construction and Supply Chain Partner of the Year from Galliford Try for “excellence in Health and Safety The introduction and investment of on tool fume extraction for our welders and Mental health awareness training for all of our managers as we believe that mental health is as important at physical health.

We have also recently invested in on tool fume extraction for our welders and more recently all of our managers have undergone Mental Health Awareness training as we believe that mental health is as important as physical health.
